The name of the band was inspired by the Greek word for sound and Latin word for mother, or womb. One could translate Phonomatrix as "Sound Mother" or The Mothers of Sound.
Lady Stardust hails from Boston, Massachusetts and has been writing and playing music since getting her first Casio keyboard at the age of 3.
Honing her vocals since the age of 12, she created only electronic instrumental music until a few years ago, publishing her first album under the project name Magician Among the Spirits. Three solo albums later, she is now collaborating with 3 talented musicians on her latest project, Phonomatrix. They take elements of grunge, metal, new wave, and roll them into a powerful package that explodes with both covers and original tunes.
